Old stories, new ways.

Ryan McMahon Media was founded on the belief that the most compelling stories come from those who dare to say what others won’t. We’re dedicated to creating content that challenges perceptions, fosters understanding, and ignites conversations. Whether through our television projects, podcasts, film, journalism, or digital media, we bring to light the narratives that matter.

  • Our commitment to factual unscripted documentary projects is unwavering. Debwewin, or truth, is at the core of all we do at RMMedia.

  • Our scripted projects centre the humanity of Indigenous life with nuance, memorable characters, and complex storytelling. Unapologetically Indigenous, we tell stories you've never heard before.

  • The audio medium connects the listener to entire worlds they'd never consider otherwise. Podcasting anchors our workflow, creates our IP, and shares stories in ways film and television does not.

  • Some stories are so beautiful, the territories they're from so breathtaking, only the bigscreen can share the worlds we build.

For nearly two decades, Ryan McMahon has been a trailblazer in Indigenous comedy, podcasting, and storytelling across all mediums.

His goal has always been to smash the status quo and rebuild the world around him through laughter and Indigenous storytelling.

Now he’s built a company to do just that.

HI THERE. I’M RYAN.

When I started my career in 1999, the stories being told about Indigenous Peoples then didn’t reflect my reality, my truth, or my life.

So I started creating, writing, and building worlds through comedy and storytelling that reflected the world as I experienced it, the world as I imagined it, and the world I dreamed of.

Indigenous Peoples are brilliant, innovative, masterful storytellers. Our knowledge systems, laws, and stories, will change this world forever, if we are heard.

My purpose in life is to ensure we are heard.

RMMedia develops, creates, and publishes Indigenous stories for worldwide audiences. Our projects are nuanced, complex, and unapologetically grounded in Indigenous truths, worldviews, and sensibilities.
